Byron Louie
Skillful, experienced, dedicated, and creative design leader with extensive experience in web and mobile design, user experience, and user interface design. I strive to create seamless and pleasurable experiences through research, design, planning and creativity.
Current Position:
As of October 2016, I have been working at Cisco as a Senior UX Designer.
Early Career:
In 2004, I completed an internship at Circle Design and moved to the Bay Area to attend San Jose State University. After receiving a BFA in Graphic Design and a minor in Advertising and finishing an internship in design/advertising at Spartan Athletics, I accepted a job with Talenthouse Inc., as their Principal Designer. In 2009, I was sent to Austria to help lead a team of web developers in the planning and redesign of their website and online community. During this time, I also consulted several clients in the Silicon Valley, helping them to improve their brand experience and product. The demand for art direction lead me to co-found Remedie Studio, a San Francisco based design firm in 2010. There, I was the principal designer and worked closely with stakeholders, developers and project managers in order to understand and strengthen the usability for multiple web and mobile applications. While working closely with clients, I fine tuned my UX process and have been focused on it ever since. This led to a position as a UI/UX Designer at Stanford Health Care, where I worked from 2013-2016.
Fun Facts:
• Wrote, illustrated, and marketed a Children's book which was successfully funded on Kickstarter.
• Created TWO viral YouTube videos totaling over 30 Million combined views and have been featured on sites like Buzzfeed, Huff Post, Elite Daily, Mashable, just to name a few.
• Lover of sports and dogs
